Highland Senior Pictures - Kari

Well guys. Schools started up again and if you haven't had your senior pictures taken, now is the time to do that.... especially if you go to Maschoutah High school... where I know they've got an early November deadline for the yearbook photos. So hurry on up folks! Call us to schedule your senior session! Things usually start booking up fast this time of year and you don't want to miss out on our awesome senior photo shoots at prices your parents will be pleased with. Seriously. Don't put it off.

In the meantime, here are a few fun shots from a senior session I did today. Kari came to our studio after she saw all the fun pictures we got of her friend, April a few weeks ago. I really had a good time working with Kari. She's got a fun, carefree sort of personality you don't see a lot. Great to work with and willing to try a few silly things for the sake of getting some good shots. Here's my fav's from her session:

A Saturday Full of Babies

Saturday was a bit odd. Aside from the one wedding consultation, I spent the day working with only babies! Here are a couple of my favs from the day.

This little cutie was a busy boy... walking, or rather... running, at only 10 months! His easy smile made him an easy subject. I had fun chasing him around for some shots.

What a sweetheart! The whole session she kept sticking her tongue out. It was adorable! Apparently grandpa was a bad influence and taught her how. Guess he'll be hearing from mom and dad later! Lol. Isn't she cute though!

I was so excited to photograph little Victoria. Her parents have been coming to my studio since I first began shooting out of the extra bedroom of our first home. It's great to see the little ones grow and to be able to capture it all. Little victoria was absolutely adorable so tiny and precious and she did a great job for pictures! Thanks for letting me photograph her Rachel!

I LOVE this shot of little Jaxon. He is SO CUTE with his hat on. I can't get enough of his chubby cheeks and big smile. Even though he wasn't smiling it this shot, it's my favorite. Something about his big blue eyes!

And this little one was ready to move... one of the fastest crawlers I've seen. I'm sure he'll be walking in no time! And I thought it was so cute how he put his feet up on the rocking horse! Sweet isn't it?

Anyways, that's my Saturday in a nutshell. Post comments. I love feedback. =)

Brianna - Mascoutah Senior

Here are a few of my favs from the session I did today. Brianna was great to work with... so very photogenic. I had fun working with her, even used a background I haven't had the chance to "break in" yet. Thanks for a good time Brianna. You make my job easy!

I'm testing out my new logo for the first time. Our regular logo just didn't work well on prints (for the corner of wallets and stuff) so I just didn't have any. In hopes to improve our branding though, I've reworked a new, similar logo, that will work better on prints. Leave a comment and let me know what you think. =)

Birth Announcements for Shannon

Shannon, let me know if you want to make changes to this design. It can be ordered as a 4.5x5 for $35 or 5x7 for $40. I recommend the 5x7 since you have some small images in the design. You'll get 24 cards in your pack and may order additional cards for $5 per set of 4. Also, please confirm that everything is spelled correctly and there aren't any mistakes on the text. I hope this is something similar to what you'd had in mind. If not, please let me know and I can work up something a little different. Just let me know. Thanks!

New Gallery / Waiting Room at Larissa Photography

I'm so excited to tell everyone about our newest renovation at Larissa Photography! We've just added a entrance/gallery/waiting room that will make things so much eaiser!

For starters, it will be open everyday from 8:00 am till 9:00 pm for customers who want to just drop by. I will have a special shelf in there just for clients who have orders to pick up, so, even if I'm busy with a session or not available at the time, you can stop by and pick up your order whenever you want! That means you don't have to make an appointment to come by and get your pictures! I know that will make it a lot easier for some of you who are just as busy as I am these days! Yeah! No more balancing our rediculous calendars!

Also, if you show up early for your session and I'm not ready to start your session yet, no big deal! You'll get to make yourself at home in this beautiful new gallery and look through some of our awesome albums while you wait.

Also, this will be good news for new moms and pregnant women. I've always hated those stairs we had to go down with the back entrance. Not fun when you're toting a 300lb baby carrier! Lol. And the poor moms-to-be all out of breath before we even started pictures! Stupid stairs! No more! With the new entrance you'll be closer to where you parked and you don't have to worry about going down any stairs to get in. Yay!

I'm pretty excited about this new entrance/gallery/waiting room and hope you'll all come by to visit. As I type this, the room is just about done. Starting Monday, July 27th, the gallery should be completely done and I hope you'll all take the time to stop by and take a look! I'll probably post photos off it when it's done too. You know about me and my picture taking. =)

Bridal Shoot of DeAnna and Brandon

Top 6 reason's to schedule a Bridal Session for yourself:

1) There isn't/wasn't enough time to do all the romantic fun shots on the day of your wedding.
2) It rained, snowed, or was too hot or cold on your wedding day and you didn't get to do outdoor shots as a result.
3) You had a great location in mind but it was just too far from the wedding.
4) You got married in a courthouse and didn't have wedding photos taken.
5) The stress, nerves, and time pressure of the day were too much and you just wanted to get the photos over with, resulting in less-than-ideal photos.
6) You either didn't hire a wedding photographer or the photographer you did hire wasn't all that great so the photos you got were less than thrilling.

If any of the above applies to you, you might consider a Bridal Session. Bridal sessions are done days, weeks, even years after the wedding. The bride and groom get all dolled up one more time and hit a few scenic spots around town to get some great wedding portraits. The relaxed nature of this type of session allows us to capture more affection and the resulting images are stunning.

Here are a few photos from DeAnna and Brandon's Bridal Session. They got married on Saturday but didn't want to make their guests wait for them at the reception so they planned a bridal shoot for a couple days after the wedding, before leaving for the honeymoon. This worked out perfectly and, in my opinion, resulted in some really great images!

Bridal Sessions are around $300 and include close to 100 photos taken at multiple locations during this 2-hour long shoot. Call Larissa for details or to book yours now!

Brandon and DeAnna's Wedding Photos

This weekend we had the pleasure of photographing not just another wedding, but the wedding of our friends DeAnna and Brandon. It was so fun working with them and capturing their beautiful wedding for them. Here are a few of my shots from the night...

Well technically this last shot was TJ's but I liked it a lot. =)

Save the Date Cards

Here's a "save the date" card for one of my upcoming wedding couples... Laurel and Ben. It's difficult to get a complete idea of how these cards will look from the flat images below because these are going to be tri-fold cards.

The far right 3rd of the design above will be the "front" image of the card. The two-thirds on the left will be on the back at this point (until the card is opened all the way).
Shown Above: The center text will be what the card opens up to (as if it were a regular greeting card with the text on the right). The far right shows what the back of the card looks like when the card is folded up.

I know that all is difficult to understand and trust me, it's just as hard to explain! But, if you like the overall look of these designs, you'll like the final product. I can print these on regular satin, linen (canvas textured feel), or pearl which is kind of shimmery.

Laurel and Ben, you may choose to make revisions if you want. Just call or email me to let me know what changes you want to make. Otherwise, please confirm that all the information is correct and double check to make sure there aren't any typos.

Per Laurel's request, here's the first image with the cover photo in color:

And in faded color...
